Critical application : IT and data centre

Meeting the challenge of power and energy performance

The supply of reliable, cost-effective power which can be scaled to meet the rapidly changing demands of the data center are your major challenges.

SOCOMEC offers you its expertise and innovative solutions for:
• Guaranteeing the continuity and safety of your electrical power supply
• Minimizing energy consumption and operating expenditure to maximize your investment
• Future proofing your critical power facility
• Managing the maximum capacity of your electrical infrastructure
• Minimizing your environmental impact

What is an UPS and what it is for?

Atmospheric conditions

Bad atmospheric conditions can compromise the continuity and quality of the power supply. Storms can result in total blackouts, irreparable damage to computers and data losses due to the powerful voltage surges caused by lightning strikes.

Industrial conditions

Industrial environments are very high risk, due to the presence of large machinery like welders and electric motors which can cause voltage drops over a large area. These voltage drops, just like voltage peaks and micro-interruptions to the power supply, are a serious danger to data integrity.

Operating conditions

The electrical disturbances in the workplace caused by photocopiers, lifts, fluorescent lighting, compressors and electrical motors cause continuous problems. These may seem inconsiderable, but which over time can seriously reduce the working life of computers and other sensitive equipment.

Human error

Unforeseeable accidents are one of the most frequent causes of sudden power failure. These include causes such as work on the mains line or the many kinds of incidents which can cause a blackout, incorrectly rated electrical systems and everyday office accidents resulting in the power plug being pulled out from the mains.
